You Blow Me Tutorial: Step by step to do it perfectly

Must read

Okay, so I stumbled upon this “you blow me” thing and thought, “What the heck, let’s give it a shot.” I’m not gonna lie, the name itself made me chuckle a bit. It sounded kinda silly, but hey, I’m all for trying new things.

Getting Started

First things first, I needed to figure out what this even was. I did some digging around, and it turned out to be a sort of… visual effect? A trick? It’s hard to explain, but basically, you make it look like you’re blowing something on your screen, and it reacts. Sounds weird, I know, but stick with me.

The Setup

I found a basic template online that showed a dandelion so,Naturally, downloaded the images for a dandelion.

  • Get a phone: any smartphone, and set the dandelion’s image.
  • Get yourself: face the phone and pretend you’re going to blow it.
  • Prepare a video: you will need it! Open your phone, and switch to video record.

Making Magic (or at least, trying to)

I can record everything, which is awesome. I’m gonna do that.

And, then the real fun began, I set my phone for playing a video. Put the dandelion’s image, then, I switched the phone to video recording mode.

Facing my phone, I pretended that I would blow on the screen, at the same time, I touch the button for recording.

The key is the timing. You gotta start “blowing” right as you set the dandelion’s image and hit record. It took a few tries, I won’t lie. My first attempt was a total disaster – I think I blinked, and it looked like I was having a seizure instead of blowing a dandelion.

Fumbling and Finally Figuring It Out

After messing around for, like, half an hour, I finally started to get the hang of it. The trick, I realized, was to keep my “blowing” consistent and really sell it. I even added a little head bob for extra effect, because why not?

Then change the images when your mouth blows the dandelion.

Review my recording a few times and, oh, I made it!

The Big Reveal (and some giggles)

Once I had a take I was happy with, I watched it through, and you know what? It actually looked pretty cool! It really did look like I was blowing the dandelion on my screen. I showed it to my friend, and she cracked up, so I guess that means it was a success, right?

All in all, this “you blow me” thing was a fun little experiment. It’s definitely silly, but it’s also kinda creative, and it’s a good way to waste a bit of time and maybe get a few laughs. Would I recommend it? Sure, why not? Just don’t take it too seriously, and be prepared to look a little ridiculous while you’re doing it.
