Okay, so today I tried out this “juan bell baseball” thing. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure what it was at first. I just saw it mentioned online and thought, “Why not?”

I started by, you know, trying to figure out what equipment I even needed. I rummaged through my garage and found an old baseball bat and some tennis balls – figured that would be good enough for a beginner. I didn’t want to go all-in on specialized gear before even knowing if I’d enjoy it.
Then, the practice space. My backyard is pretty small, so I decided to head to the local park. I found a relatively empty area, away from kids and dogs, so I wouldn’t accidentally bean anyone.
The first few swings? Let’s just say they were… awkward. I was swinging the bat like I was trying to swat a fly, all uncoordinated and wobbly. The tennis ball went maybe ten feet. It was pretty pathetic, I’m not gonna lie.
But I kept at it. I tried to remember some baseball tips I’d seen on TV – you know, keep your eye on the ball, follow through, all that jazz. Slowly, I started to get a little better. The ball was traveling further, maybe 20, even 30 feet! Still not impressive, but progress.
I started to work out my swings and follow-throughs.

- Stance
- Swing
- Follow-through
- Repeat
Swing Harder!
I was getting the hang of it I felt.
After about an hour, I was pretty tired. My arms were aching, and I was definitely sweating. But, it was actually kind of fun! I could see how, with some actual practice, this could be a decent workout and a good way to blow off some steam.
So, final verdict? “Juan bell baseball,” or whatever it’s really called, is worth a try. Just don’t expect to be a pro on your first go. It takes some getting used to, but it’s definitely a good time if you are looking for something silly to test out. I’ll probably try it again next week, maybe with some real baseballs this time!
