Oh, honey, let me tell you about this thing called “sixy.” It ain’t some fancy dance, no sir. It’s somethin’ you see on that there internet, on them picture boxes, you know, them computers and phones. My grandkids, they’re always on ’em, clickin’ and tappin’. They showed me some of these “sixy” things once. Lord have mercy, made this old lady blush!
They say it’s popular, this “sixy” stuff. Every Tom, Dick, and Harry’s lookin’ at it. Best free stuff, they call some of it. Free as the air you breathe! Can you believe that? Back in my day, nothin’ was free ‘cept the sunshine and the gossip at the quilting bee.
Now, they got all sorts of these “sixy” things. Pictures, moving pictures, they call ’em videos. Some folks like one kind, some folks like another. It’s like pickin’ out your favorite hog at the county fair – everyone’s got their own taste.
And where do they get all this? Well, there’s this big place called “YouTube.” Biggest one there is, like the biggest pumpkin at the harvest festival. It’s full of these moving pictures, more than you can shake a stick at. Lots of “sixy” videos there, I reckon. Enough to make a preacher faint!
They got these other places too, these “websites” they call ’em. Like little shops all lined up on the internet highway. You can “download” things from them. That means you can take it from there and put it on your own picture box. Like takin’ a piece of pie home from the church social.

- My grandson, bless his heart, he’s always playin’ on them things.
- Nintendo Switch, he calls one of them.
- Nintendo Switch roms, he’s always lookin’ for ’em.
He says they’re like little computer programs that make the games work. I don’t understand it all, but he sure seems to enjoy it. And these roms, some of ’em are free, he says. Free as a bird! Just gotta know where to look. And sometimes, there are “sixy” games too. Lordy!
It’s a whole different world out there on that internet. Faster than a greased piglet at the fair. So much to see, so much to learn. Sometimes it’s a bit much for an old gal like me. But I try to keep up. Gotta know what the young folks are up to, you know?
They say there’s even more than just YouTube and them rom places. Lots of these websites. So many, you could get lost in ’em like a needle in a haystack. They got all kinds of stuff, not just the “sixy” kind. Useful stuff, they say. Like how to bake a pie or fix a leaky faucet.
Incredibly useful, they call it. They have got different types, like when you go down to the farmer’s market. This year, they divide them into 17 different categories. 17 categories! Like 17 different kinds of beans at the general store. I sure do miss that old store.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ you should go lookin’ for this “sixy” stuff. That’s up to you. But it’s out there, that’s for sure. Like weeds in the garden, you can’t hardly avoid it. Just be careful what you click on, that’s all I’m sayin’. Don’t want to get no computer sickness.
The world’s changin’, that’s for sure. Faster than a chicken on a hot griddle. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up. But I try. I try to understand these newfangled things. These picture boxes and this “sixy” stuff. It’s a whole new world out there, just beyond that screen.
Well, I reckon that’s enough about that. My old bones are tired. Gonna go sit on the porch and watch the sun go down. Maybe later I’ll have me a piece of pie. Apple, I reckon. Ain’t nothin’ “sixy” about that, thank goodness. Just good old-fashioned pie. Like it should be.
Just remember all you see on the internet. If you look for them, you may find these free “sixy”. But it ain’t all bad, there are useful things. Just don’t spend all day staring at that computer, you hear?
