Okay, so I’ve been wanting to see Green Day live forever, and when I saw they were coming to Chicago, I knew I had to go. This whole ticket-buying process, though, it’s a whole thing!

The Pre-Sale Panic
First, I signed up for all the email lists. Like, every single one I could find. The band’s, the venue’s, even Ticketmaster’s, even though I kinda hate them. I was determined to get a pre-sale code.
Then, the waiting game began. I checked my email like a hawk, refreshing it every five minutes, driving myself absolutely crazy. Finally, an email! It was from the venue, with a pre-sale code. Boom! I felt like I won the lottery.
The Ticket Buying Frenzy
The morning of the pre-sale, I was ready. I had my laptop open, multiple tabs ready, my credit card info saved, everything. The second the clock hit the on-sale time, I clicked like a madman.
I got into the virtual waiting room, which was basically torture. My little stick figure guy was inching along, and the estimated wait time kept fluctuating. It was brutal.
Finally, I got in! I quickly selected the best seats I could find that were still in my budget (because those prices, wow!). Added them to my cart, and started the checkout process.

- Filled out my info.
- Double-checked everything.
- Triple-checked the date.
I hit “submit” and held my breath. The spinning wheel of doom appeared, and I swear, I almost passed out. Then…success! I got the tickets!
The Aftermath
I immediately screamed, probably scaring my cat. I took screenshots of the confirmation page, just in case. I even printed out the confirmation email, because you can never be too careful, right?
It was a rollercoaster of emotions, but I finally scored those Green Day tickets. Chicago, here I come! Now, I just need to plan the rest of the trip…
