Alright, so I was on a mission the other day. Needed to get my hands on some pictures of Adam Ant. Not just any pictures, mind you, but the good ones, the iconic ones.

How It All Started
It’s funny how these things pop into your head. I wasn’t planning a deep dive into 80s pop nostalgia, not really. But then I heard one of his tracks, probably “Stand and Deliver,” playing somewhere faintly, and boom! Suddenly, I had this urge, this absolute need, to see those visuals again. You know how it is, one little thing triggers a whole avalanche of memories, or in this case, a quest for images.
The Actual Hunt
So, first things first, I fired up my trusty old computer. It takes its sweet time waking up these days, a bit like me in the morning, ha! Once it was up and running, I opened up a web browser. Standard procedure, right?
My first search was simple: just “Adam Ant pictures.” And boy, did that open the floodgates. You get everything thrown at you. Recent photos, old photos, photos of photos, stuff that barely looked like him. It’s a bit of a digital rummage sale, really. You gotta sift through a lot of junk to find the treasures.
I quickly realized I needed to be more specific. I wasn’t after pictures from his latest tour, bless him for still going. I wanted that classic era. So, I started refining my search.
- “Adam Ant 80s”
- “Adam Ant Prince Charming”
- “Adam Ant dandy highwayman”
- “Adam Ant warpaint”
That helped narrow things down quite a bit. It’s like tuning an old radio; you twist the dial, get a lot of static, and then suddenly, a clear station comes through.

Sorting Through The Results
Even with more specific terms, it wasn’t all plain sailing. You find a thumbnail that looks promising, click on it, and it’s tiny! Barely bigger than a postage stamp. Or it’s plastered with watermarks so big you can hardly see the image underneath. That’s always a bit frustrating. I wasn’t looking to publish a book, just wanted some decent images for my own viewing pleasure, to recapture that feeling, you know?
I spent a good while scrolling, clicking, going back, trying different combinations of words. Sometimes you’d stumble upon a fan page or an old forum thread, and those can be goldmines. People who are really passionate, they dig up the rare stuff. Other times, you just get the same three or four over-used publicity shots over and over again.
What I Ended Up With
Eventually, after a fair bit of clicking and squinting, I managed to gather a decent little collection. Got some great shots of him in full “Prince Charming” regalia, the white stripe across the nose, the whole nine yards. Found a few good ones from the “Kings of the Wild Frontier” period too. Those looks were something else, weren’t they? So theatrical, so bold. You don’t see that kind of commitment to a persona much anymore, or maybe I’m just getting old.
I didn’t do anything fancy with them. Just saved them into a little folder on my computer. Sometimes, it’s just nice to have these things, a little visual reminder of a particular time or a particular artist who made an impact. It was a fun little trip down memory lane, even if the internet didn’t make it as straightforward as you’d think. But hey, that’s half the fun of the hunt, I suppose.
