Okay, let me tell you about this thing I got into recently – the Rory Tracker. It all started when I stumbled upon this Twitter account, @TrackerRory. I thought to myself, “What’s this all about?” Turns out, it’s all about tracking this famous golfer, Rory McIlroy. I’m not even a huge golf fan, but I got curious.
So, I started following the account. They tweet about every tournament Rory’s in, and they call him the “coolest cat in the game.” I guess he’s a pretty big deal. They also mention something about Rory’s foundation, but I haven’t looked into that yet.
Then, I found another account, @troncarterNLU, that seems to be related to this Rory Tracker thing. They call themselves “Tracking every tournament of Rory McIlroy.” They even have a cute little dog emoji in their bio. I guess they’re pretty serious about this whole tracking thing.
Next, I stumbled upon this TikTok account, @rorymcilroytracker. They claim to be the “largest Rory McIlroy fan community in the world.” They’ve got over 800,000 likes and 55,000 followers, so they must be doing something right. They use the hashtag #HearTheRors, which I assume is a play on Rory’s name. They created lots of videos.
I also saw somewhere that they’re tracking a “4x Major Champ” and a “21 PGA Tour Winner.” I guess that’s Rory, he must be really good. They mentioned that the current event is the “Travelers.” I don’t know what that is, but I guess it’s some big golf tournament.
This whole Rory Tracker thing is a multi-platform operation. They’re on Instagram, Twitter, and I guess TikTok too. They established themselves back in March 2016, so they’ve been around for a while.
There seems to be a “Find My” app aspect to this. I guess you can use the Find My app on iPhone to track something called an “AirTag”.
Honestly, I started this as a way to kill some time, but now I’m kind of invested. I want to see where this Rory guy goes next. I guess I’m part of the Rory Tracker community now, whether I like it or not. I followed these accounts, watched their videos and even checked other people’s comments.

- Started paying attention to golf tournaments, even though I don’t know much about golf.
- Realized I’m now part of a large online community dedicated to following a golfer around.
- Used “Find My” app on iPhone try to track something.
- Checked many videos on TikTok and comments.
