Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into Diablo 4 lately, and one of the things I wanted to get a handle on was Strongholds. These things are scattered all over the map and they’re a pretty good way to snag some decent loot and experience. Figuring out where they all are, though? That took some work. So here’s my journey of tracking them down.

First thing I did was, I just started playing. I figured I’d stumble across some of these Strongholds naturally, right? And I did! I found a couple just by wandering around, exploring the different regions. But that was slow going. I wanted to be a bit more… efficient.
So, I started taking notes, like a proper nerd. Every time I cleared a Stronghold, I’d mark down the region on a scrap of paper, jot down a quick description of what the place looked like, and the main enemy types. This helped me keep track of which ones I’d already done and which ones I still need to search.
My Crude Map System
- Fractured Peaks: I remember this one place being super cold and snowy. Lots of Fallen and those goat-like Khazra. Made a note: “Freezing, lots of goats.”
- Scosglen: This area was all forests and werewolves, so my notes were like “Green, fuzzy, howly boys.”
- Dry Steppes: Lots of canyons and those annoying Cannibals. My note: “Brown, angry, eat people.” Not very detailed.
- Kehjistan: Desert area, full of cultists and snake people. Wrote: “Sandy, sneaky, culty snakes.”
- Hawezar: Swamps, full of creepy crawlies. My note was simple, “Wet, bugs, gross.”
After that, I wanted the full picture. I tried to keep a mental map, but I am not good at it. So I just made some quick sketches.
Eventually, I’d explored enough of the map that I felt pretty confident I’d hit all the Strongholds. My notes were a mess, but they got the job done. It’s all about the process, ya know? Grind it out, take some notes, and conquer those Strongholds!
