Okay, so today we’re talking about the CBR500R. I’ve been eyeing this bike for a while, and finally took the plunge and got one. Let me tell you, it’s been a ride, literally and figuratively!
First off, I went to the dealership. They had a few different colors, but I went with the classic black. Looks slick, you know? After signing some papers and whatnot, I finally got to sit on it. Felt good, man. The seat was comfy, the handlebars were in the right spot, it just felt… right.
I started her up. The engine purred nicely, not too loud, not too quiet. I carefully rode it out of the dealership and onto the road. First thing I noticed? It’s smooth. Really smooth. Gear shifts were easy, like butter. I cruised around town for a bit, just getting a feel for it.
Taking it to the Highway
- Took it slow at first.
- Then I decided to open it up a little.
When I got some speed, the wind protection was decent. I’m not a small guy, but it wasn’t trying to throw me off. Accelerating felt great, the bike responded really well. I didn’t push it too hard, still breaking it in and all that.
Tried out some corners. Handled like a dream. Leaned into them nicely, felt stable. The brakes are good, too. Responsive, but not jerky. Stopped me quickly when I needed them to. Overall I rode around all day, it was really fun. I got a good sense of how it handles, how it feels to ride.
A few more rides
Been riding it every day since. It’s just a blast to ride, no matter what. I’m really happy with the CBR500R. It’s a great bike, especially if you are just starting out like me. It’s easy to handle, it’s fun to ride, and it looks great. What more could you ask for?
