Whats New in the MotoGP 2023 Schedule? Key Dates and Changes You Should Know!

MotoGP 2023 Calendar – It’s a Busy Year!

They got races in Portugal, Argentina, America, and Spain. It just keeps going! They call it the MotoGP 2023 calendar. Fancy name for a bunch of races, if you ask me. Back in my day, we didn’t have none of that. We just rode our old bicycles down the dirt road, and that was that.

That Portuguese Grand Prix, that was the first one, back in March. March 24th to 26th, they were racing. Then they went to Argentina, right after, March 31st to April 2nd. And then, America! April 14th to 16th, they were all there, riding them motorcycles.

  • Portuguese Grand Prix (March 24–26)
  • Argentine Grand Prix (March 31–April 2)
  • Americas Grand Prix (April 14–16)
  • Spanish Grand Prix… and it goes on and on!

What’s This New Sprint Race Thing?

And you know what else they got now? This new thing called a sprint race. Started in 2023, they tell me. Every Saturday afternoon, they do this shorter race. Half the distance of the big race on Sunday, they say. Only the first nine fellas get points. 12 points for the winner, 9 for the second, 7 for the third. It’s all too much for this old brain to keep up with.

They got this new TV channels for watching races live, need to pay to watch races. It’s not free anymore. TNTSPORTS2 is the new name.

MotoGP in 2025? Already?

And get this, they’re already talking about 2025! They say they’re starting in Thailand, some place called Buriram. February 28th to March 2nd, if you can believe it. Then they go to South America, Argentina and some other places I can’t even pronounce. Brno and Balaton Park, they call ’em. New places for them to ride, I reckon.

How Long Are These MotoGP Races Anyway?

The big race, the main event, they say it’s 24 laps. Takes about 40 minutes. These young folks, they’re fast! They start their engines at 9:40 in the morning, do a little warm-up, and then they wave to the crowd. After that, the Moto3, whatever that is, they race at 11 o’clock.

It’s all a lot of fuss, if you ask me. But I guess that’s what the young people like these days. Fast bikes, loud noises, and racing all over the world. Me? I’m happy with my old rocking chair and a nice cup of tea. But hey, to each their own, right?

All These Countries and Places!

Portugal, Argentina, America, Spain, Thailand… It’s like they’re trying to race in every country in the world! I don’t know how they keep track of it all. It’s all a blur to me. Back in my day, we were lucky if we got to go to the next town over. Now they’re zipping around the globe like it’s nothing.

And they got all these different circuits, too. Different tracks, different turns, different everything. How do they even remember where they’re going? I get lost just going to the market sometimes! But I guess these MotoGP riders, they’re professionals. They know what they’re doing, I suppose.

Keeping Up with the MotoGP Schedule

If you want to keep up with all these races, you better have a good calendar. And a good memory! It’s a lot to remember. But I guess if you’re a big fan, you’ll find a way. You young folks are good with that internet thing. You can probably find all the information you need there. Me, I’ll just stick to my newspaper. It’s simpler that way.
