So yesterday I was stuck hard on episode 13, right? Getting my butt kicked constantly. Felt like hitting a brick wall. My old Dark Cacao, Black Raisin, Sea Fairy setup just wasn’t cutting it anymore. Healing felt too slow, enemies burst me down before I could react. Frustrating as heck!
Time To Experiment
Started digging around online, saw people talking about Pure Vanilla being clutch. Didn’t have him built, so I slapped some swift chocolates on him and shoved him into my team slot. Tried a bunch of combos:
- First shot: Dark Cacao, Pure Vanilla, Black Raisin, Eclair, Sea Fairy. Verdict? Still too fragile. Black Raisin kept dying first.
- Swapped out: Dropped Black Raisin, put in Hollyberry instead. Now: Hollyberry, Pure Vanilla, Sea Fairy, Eclair. Needed one more damage dealer. Better? Hollyberry tanked like a champ, Pure Vanilla kept the HP bars topped up… but killing stuff took forever. Ran out of time constantly.
Ugh. Back to the drawing board. Remembered folks mentioning Wildberry as a tank. Maxed him out and slammed some solid almonds on him for defense. Replaced Hollyberry with him. Now the team looked like:
- Wildberry (Main Tank – damage sponge)
- Pure Vanilla (Healer/Shield MVP)
- Sea Fairy (AoE Freeze + Damage)
- Eclair (Debuffs + Damage Over Time)
- Strawberry Crepe (Pulls enemies together & buffs defense)
Pumped everyone’s levels as high as I could with my stockpiled jellies, gave them decent toppings focusing on damage reduction for Wildberry & Crepe, attack for Sea Fairy and Eclair.
Putting It To The Test (Chapter 13 Pain Points)
Took this new gang into the very stage that kicked my teeth in earlier: 13-30. Skeletons and dark wizards everywhere.
- First wave: Wildberry just absorbed everything. Pure Vanilla’s shields blocked the burst damage.
- Boss wave: Activated skills carefully. Strawberry Crepe pulled the archers RIGHT into Sea Fairy’s big splash attack? Chef’s kiss. Froze ’em solid! Eclair’s weakness stacks piled on while Wildberry took the boss hits like a true champ. Pure Vanilla spammed heals and shields non-stop. Boom. Three stars first try. Couldn’t believe it!
Kept pushing. Took this same team through chunks of episode 14. Crushed bosses, survived annoying poison levels, handled waves like it was nothing.
Why This Seems To Work (For Me Anyway)
- Wildberry & Strawberry Crepe are INSANE together. Wildberry tanks the big hits, Crepe pulls enemies away from your weaker guys and boosts your team’s defense. Makes everyone super sturdy.
- Pure Vanilla is the glue. His shield is a lifesaver against burst damage, and his big heal tops everyone up fast. Essential for keeping the tanks standing.
- Sea Fairy & Eclair do the dirty work. Sea Fairy stuns whole groups, Eclair weakens enemies making them die faster. Their AoE clears trash mobs super efficiently.
- It’s stupidly balanced. Good damage, amazing tanking, incredible sustain. Felt like a brick wall rolling downhill!
Been using this exact setup to cruise through tough story levels for the past few days. Might need tweaks later (heard some things about Hollyberry Cookie maybe coming back?), but for pushing story right now? This team is my absolute go-to recommendation. Took me ages to find something reliable, but this combo feels like the golden ticket. Gonna push further with them later today! Got my eye on those later episode rewards now.
