Okay so yesterday I was scrolling on my phone, half-watching some football highlights, and suddenly wondered: wait, what’s next for the Guinea-Bissau team? Felt like checking their schedule, you know? Just casual curiosity.

How I Started Digging
First thing I did was open my laptop. Went straight to this big football results site I always use – you know the one everyone talks about? Typed “Guinea-Bissau” into the search bar real quick, expecting their fixtures to pop right up.
But nope! Their page showed me stuff from months ago, like old qualifiers. Nothing about what’s coming next. Felt weird. Like searching for your keys and finding an old grocery list instead.
Thought maybe I needed better keywords. Tried “Guinea-Bissau upcoming fixtures”, “Guinea-Bissau schedule 2024”, “Djurtus next match”. Clicked through a bunch of pages. Saw news articles about their last game against Egypt… cool story bro, but not what I needed.
The Annoying Part
This is where it got irritating. I figured the official place must have it, right? Found this page called “Guinea-Bissau Football Federation”. Looked kinda clunky. Half the links seemed broken, and the page hasn’t been updated in what felt like ages. Their “Fixtures” section? Completely empty. Blank space. Felt like shouting into a void.
Almost gave up. Grabbed another coffee. Then it clicked – maybe their schedule is set by the tournaments they’re in. Searched for “CAF”, that’s the African football body. Went deep into their site, found the “2026 World Cup qualifiers Africa” section. Scrolled… and scrolled… found Group A! There it was: Burkina Faso, Algeria, Botswana, Uganda… and Guinea-Bissau! Jackpot.

Finally Got the Schedule
Here’s what their official next games actually are (copying this straight from my notes app):
- September 2024: Guinea-Bissau vs Algeria (Home, I think? Still confusing)
- October 2024: Uganda vs Guinea-Bissau (Away)
- November 2024: Guinea-Bissau vs Burkina Faso (Home… hopefully)
- March 2025: Botswana vs Guinea-Bissau (Away)
Why was this so dang hard? You’d think finding a national team’s schedule would be simple. But nah. Official sites looking like ghost towns, news sites stuck on the past, and tournament sites burying the info ten layers deep. Reminds me of trying to find my old socks in a messy drawer. Took way longer than it should’ve!
Anyway, now I know. They kick off qualifiers again in September against Algeria. Gonna set a reminder to check if they actually announce where the home game is played. Wouldn’t be shocked if they announce it the day before or something. Some of these smaller teams, man… organizing stuff seems like pure chaos.
