Okay, let me tell you about my time with the Wild Storm Skylander figure. It feels like ages ago now, but I remember getting pretty excited about this one.

Getting My Hands on Wild Storm
I remember browsing online, maybe it was eBay or some forum, looking for Skylanders I didn’t have yet. The Sensei figures from Imaginators were the big thing back then. Wild Storm, being one of the ‘expensive’ ones, always caught my eye. He looked cool, this griffin dude with armor. For a long time, I just looked, because man, some sellers were asking a lot. Then, one day, I stumbled upon a listing. It wasn’t super cheap, but way better than most I’d seen. Looked like someone was just clearing out their collection. I thought about it for maybe ten minutes and just went for it. Clicked ‘buy’ before someone else snagged him.
First Look and Feel
When the package finally arrived, I opened it up pretty quick. The figure itself felt solid, heavier than some of the regular Skylanders. He had good detail, the feathers, the armor plating, that big sword he carries. It wasn’t just a cheap piece of plastic; you could tell some effort went into the design. I spent a few minutes just turning him around, checking out the pose. Pretty impressive looking figure, honestly, even just sitting on the desk.
Putting Him in the Game
Alright, so the main event. I booted up Skylanders Imaginators. Waited for the game to load, got my Portal of Power ready. I picked up Wild Storm, felt that weight again, and plonked him down onto the portal. The usual flash of light on screen, and boom, there he was. Seeing him appear in the game, matching the figure in my hand, that’s always the neat part about Skylanders, right?
His introduction animation was cool, showing off his moves. He’s an Air Knight Sensei, so I was expecting some swift sword attacks and maybe some sky-based stuff. I immediately jumped into a level I knew well just to test him out.
- Swinging that big sword felt good. Had decent range.
- He had this move where he’d fly up a bit and slash down, which was handy for dodging.
- His Sky-Chi power, man, that cleared the screen. Really powerful stuff.
Playing Through Levels
I started using Wild Storm quite a bit after that. He felt powerful, definitely lived up to the Sensei name. His attacks were strong, and he could take a hit too. I remember using him specifically in some of the tougher arena battles in Imaginators. His ability to hit multiple enemies with sword combos and that swooping attack made crowd control easier. Plus, being a Sensei, he unlocked that level cap for my Air Imaginators and gave them a new weapon technique, which was a nice bonus.

He wasn’t just strong, he was fun. Zipping around, slashing enemies, using that big ultimate move… it felt satisfying. Some Skylanders feel a bit clunky, but Wild Storm felt pretty agile for a guy in armor carrying a huge sword.
Final Thoughts Back Then
Looking back, getting Wild Storm was a good move. Yeah, he cost a bit more than your average Skylander figure at the time, but the quality of the figure and how effective and fun he was in the game made it worth it for me. He quickly became one of my go-to Air element Skylanders when I needed some serious power. He just looked cool on the shelf too, among the collection. Definitely one of the standout Senseis from that Imaginators wave.
