So, I gotta share this. I was out in the Terrarium the other day, just kinda poking around the Savannah area. It had been raining, you know, that typical on-and-off drizzle we get there. I wasn’t really hunting for anything in particular, just exploring, maybe leveling up a bit. My buddy Cerula was with me, just chilling.
Anyway, I’m walking through the tall grass, and then I see this little Comfey floating by. At first, I didn’t think much of it. Just another Comfey, right? But then, something caught my eye. The flowers it was holding… they looked different. And its body, it wasn’t the usual green. It was more like a… well, a brighter, almost tealish kind of green! The face was a bit different too, if I remember right. The usual ones have that orange face, but this one, it just popped.
My heart kinda skipped a beat. I was like, “Hold on a second…” I squinted at my screen. Could it be? I’ve heard about shiny Comfey, seen pictures, but never stumbled upon one myself. This was genuinely my first time ever seeing one in the wild. I quickly got into an encounter with it. Yep, there was that little sparkle animation! A shiny Comfey! I couldn’t believe my luck.
Okay, so then the panic sets in a little, right? Don’t want to mess this up. I made sure to save my game, like, immediately. My hands were a bit sweaty, not gonna lie. I carefully started the battle, didn’t want to accidentally knock it out. Threw a few balls, and after what felt like an eternity (but was probably just a minute or two), click! Gotcha! He was caught.
I immediately went to check him out in my party. And wow. He looks great. Seriously, the color is just so much cooler than the regular one. I know, I know, shiny Pokémon aren’t any stronger or anything. They’re just a different color. Some shinies are a total transformation, others just tiny changes, but this Comfey? It’s a really nice change. He doesn’t have a special mark or anything, but honestly, I don’t even care. Just having him is awesome enough. My first shiny Comfey, caught in the rain in the Savannah. Pretty cool memory, if you ask me. Cerula seemed pretty unfazed, but I was stoked!
It’s funny, sometimes you go out looking for something specific for hours and find nothing, and other times, stuff like this just happens when you least expect it. That’s Pokémon for ya, I guess. Keeps things interesting.
