My Trip Through Amarillo: Stopped by the Players Club
Alright, so I was driving through Amarillo not too long ago. Had some time to kill before I needed to be anywhere else. Heard folks mention a place called the Players Club, figured why not check it out? Wasn’t really sure what to expect, just went on a whim, you know?

Finding the Place
Pulled up in the afternoon. Wasn’t too hard to spot once I was in the right area. Parking was easy enough, found a spot right out front practically. Looked like a pretty standard kind of local spot from the outside, nothing too flashy.
Stepping Inside
Walked in. It was kinda dim inside, typical bar lighting I guess. Took a second for my eyes to adjust. Seemed like a decent-sized place. Some folks were scattered around, mostly keeping to themselves or in small groups. Heard the clack of pool balls right away.
Here’s kinda what I noticed just looking around:

- Several pool tables seemed to be the main focus. A few games were going on.
- There was a bar area, standard setup. Looked like they had the usual drinks.
- Saw some dart boards off to one side too, though nobody was playing darts when I was there.
- A few TVs were on, showing sports I think, but the sound was down low.
What I Did
I wasn’t really looking to join a game or anything. Just wanted to see the place. So, I grabbed a soda from the bar – bartender seemed alright, got me sorted quickly. Just kinda stood near the back for a bit, watching one of the pool games. The players seemed pretty serious about their shots. It had that relaxed, neighborhood hangout kind of vibe. Didn’t feel rushed or anything.
Heading Out
Didn’t stay too long, maybe half an hour total. Finished my drink, saw what I wanted to see. It was basically a straightforward pool hall and bar. Nothing crazy, just a place to shoot some pool or grab a beer, seemed like. Walked back out to my car and got back on the road. Just another stop on the journey, you know? Simple as that.
