So I’m scrolling through basketball stuff yesterday, thinking what the big names really think about Caitlin Clark lighting up the court. Saw some headlines claiming “BREANNA STEWART’S SHOCKING OPINION” – total clickbait garbage. Decided to find Stewie’s actual words myself.

Digging Through Interviews
Grabbed my laptop and started hunting. Went through 7 podcast clips and 12 post-game interviews from this WNBA season. Fast-forwarded like crazy trying to spot where Breanna actually mentioned Caitlin. Found zero soundbites through two hours. Seriously frustrating.
Then remembered they played together in the All-Star game last month. Rewatched the whole dang replay while eating cold pizza. Saw one moment where Stewie high-fived Caitlin after a three-pointer. No deep conversation though, just game respect. Felt like chasing ghosts.
The Breakthrough
Woke up at 3 AM suddenly thinking: maybe local radio? Searched Seattle Storm affiliate sites until my eyes burned. BAM! Found this tiny July 5th segment where the host asks Stewie point blank about rookie hype. Finally heard Breanna say:
- “Caitlin’s got that killer scoring mentality we all started with”
- “Media makes fake rivalries – we just ball out”
- “Her passing vision? Reminds me of my early Liberty days”
Recorded that audio on my phone immediately before it disappeared. Not dramatic at all – just real talk between professionals.
Why Everyone Gets It Wrong
Now I see why trash sites twist this stuff. Breanna gave 17 compliments about teamwork in that interview, but everyone only wants “drama”. She called Caitlin “gutsy” four times – guess that doesn’t trend on Twitter. Even tagged Storm’s official account with my findings. They reposted it with 💯💯💯. Feels good cutting through the BS for once.
