So, everyone’s talking about Wrexham again, asking if they’re gonna get promoted this year. It’s funny how much buzz there is around them now.

It actually got me thinking back to when I first really got into following a team properly. Wasn’t Wrexham back then, obviously. It was years ago, different team, different league. I was obsessed, properly obsessed. Checking scores every five minutes, reading forums, watching dodgy streams online when I couldn’t get to the game. Every win felt massive, every loss felt like the end of the world. Spent way too much energy on it, looking back.
Now, with Wrexham, I tried to get into it the same way this season. You can’t really avoid hearing about them, can you? Watched some of the documentary, seen the highlights. It’s interesting, sure. But it feels… different. All the Hollywood stuff, the cameras everywhere. It’s a big show, isn’t it?
Looking at the actual football part…
So, I did actually sit down and look at how they’re doing, properly. Pulled up the league table, checked their recent results, watched a few extended highlights beyond the fancy cuts.
Here’s what I noticed, just my own take:
- They score goals, you gotta give them that. Seems like they’ve got players who can find the net.
- But sometimes, watching them, they look a bit shaky at the back? Concede goals too. That can cost you in the long run.
- League Two is tough. It’s not like the National League. Teams are organised, physical. It’s a real slog, week in, week out.
People see the money, the famous owners, and think promotion is a dead cert. But I’ve seen teams with money fail before. Football isn’t played on spreadsheets or in boardrooms, is it? It’s about those players on the pitch, dealing with injuries, bad luck, dodgy ref decisions, and playing away on a cold Tuesday night.

Will they get promoted? Honestly, after watching teams battle it out for years, I stopped making big predictions. They’ve got a decent shot, probably better than most. They have the resources, the support is massive. But automatic promotion? That’s hard. The playoffs? Maybe more likely, but that’s a total lottery.
I learned my lesson from getting too wound up about my old team. Now, I just watch how things unfold. It’s more enjoyable that way, less stress. So yeah, they might go up. But I wouldn’t bet my house on it. Just gonna keep an eye on the results like everyone else.
