Okay, so I gotta tell you about this thing I did with Wesley Bryan at Harbour Town. You know, the golf guy? Yeah, that one. This was a while back, and let me tell you, it was something else.
I remember it like it was yesterday. I signed up to help out at this golf tournament. It’s at this place called Harbour Town Golf Links, a pretty famous course. I wasn’t playing or anything, just helping out, you know, carrying stuff, maybe pointing people in the right direction. Nothing too fancy.
So, the day rolls around, and I’m doing my thing. Then, I see him, Wesley Bryan. I knew he’d won there before, so it was a big deal he was back. People were excited, taking pictures, asking for autographs and stuff. He seemed pretty chill, though. I mean, for a guy who’s won on the PGA TOUR, he was just walking around like one of us.
- I ended up being assigned to his group. Not directly with him, but, like, in the same area.
- My job was to keep the crowd back, help find lost balls, the usual stuff volunteers do.
This one moment, though, it sticks with me. He was about to take a putt. It was a long one, like, really long. People were whispering, saying it was impossible. But then, bam! He hits it, and the ball just rolls and rolls…and sinks right in! I’m not kidding, the crowd went wild. Cheering, clapping, the whole nine yards. I think someone said it was 53-feet or something like that. Crazy, right?
I was right there, part of it all. I mean, I didn’t do anything special, but just being there, seeing that amazing shot, hearing the crowd, it was awesome. It felt like we all shared that moment together, you know?
After that, I just kept doing my volunteer stuff, but that moment, that putt, it really made the whole day something special. And, I have to say, it gave me a new appreciation for golf, and for Wesley Bryan. He’s a pretty cool dude, and a heck of a golfer.
So yeah, that’s my story about Wesley Bryan at Harbour Town. It was an experience I won’t forget. And hey, maybe next time I’ll actually try to play golf instead of just watching it!
