Today, I wanted to mess around and “make some shake,” so I did just that.

First, I grabbed a few things I thought I’d need:
- A cocktail shaker, the old-school kind with a metal cup and a glass.
- Some ice, because, duh.
- A random bottle of liquor. It was some kind of orange-flavored thing. Figured it’d be fine.
- That weird cranberry juice that’s been in the fridge for like, a month. Hopefully still good?
- One of those little measuring cup things, but I mostly just eyeballed it.
Getting Started
I tossed a handful of ice into the shaker. Not too much, not too little. Just enough to make things cold.
Then, I poured in some of the orange liquor. Honestly, I didn’t measure. Just a good glug or two.
Next, I added a splash of the cranberry juice. Again, no measuring. Just enough to make it look kinda pretty.
The Shaking Part
This is where it got interesting. I put the glass part of the shaker on top of the metal cup, making sure it was on there tight. I’ve made that mistake before… messy.

I held it with one hand on the top and one on the bottom, and I started shaking. Up and down, side to side, like I was doing some kind of weird dance. I probably looked ridiculous, but hey, it’s all part of the process.
I shook it for a good 30 seconds, maybe longer. Until my hands started to get cold and the shaker was all frosty.
The Result
I carefully took the glass off the metal cup (seriously, don’t want to spill it everywhere). I grabbed a glass, any glass will do, no need to be fancy. And I poured the mixture in.
It looked… okay. Kinda pinkish-orange. I took a sip. It was surprisingly good! A little sweet, a little tart, and definitely had a kick. Not bad for something I just threw together.
So, that’s how I “made some shake.” Nothing fancy, nothing complicated, just a bit of fun in the kitchen. Might try a different combo next time, maybe with some lime juice or something. Who knows! That’s the beauty of just messing around, you never know what you’ll end up with.
