Want to Join Serra Longo Fight Team? Check Out This Guide!

Must read

Alright, so, let me tell you about this whole deal with the Serra-Longo Fight Team. It all started when I was scrolling through some MMA stuff online, you know, just browsing through Fight Pass and ESPN+, trying to find some new fights to watch. I stumbled upon this name, “Serra-Longo,” and it just sounded hardcore, right?

So, I started digging, I wanted to know what this team was all about. Turns out, it’s this MMA team based in Long Island, New York. Not a bad place to start. Then I discovered it was put together by these two guys, Matt Serra and Ray Longo. I recognized Matt Serra’s name—former UFC welterweight champ. That got my attention.

I found out they’ve got a couple of gyms, one called Serra BJJ Academy and the other one’s Longo-Weidman MMA. Sounds legit. But here’s where it got really interesting. I started reading about the fighters they’ve trained, and it’s a pretty impressive list. I mean, they’ve worked with not one, not two, but four UFC champions!

  • Matt Serra, we already talked about him.
  • Chris Weidman, former middleweight champ.
  • Aljamain Sterling, bantamweight champ.
  • And this guy, Merab Dvalishvili, who apparently just became the new bantamweight champ.

That’s a solid track record, no doubt. I kept on looking around, and I found this Facebook group for their team. It’s called LAW MMA/Serra-Longo Fight Team, I think. It’s got a bunch of members, including Chris Weidman. It was cool to see the actual fighters in there, made it feel more real, you know?

I even saw some mentions of other big names they’ve trained, like Pete Sell and Gian Villante. I’m starting to see why this team is a big deal. I mean, if you’re into MMA and the UFC, you’ve probably heard of them. It feels like they’re one of those teams that’s always in the mix, always got someone competing at the top level.

Anyway, after all this, I started watching some of their fighters’ older matches. And man, they’re good. I mean, really good. Their training must be top-notch because these guys are beasts in the octagon.

It’s crazy how much you can learn just by doing a little digging online. Now I’m thinking about trying to find more of their fights, maybe even checking out some of the regional promotions they’re involved in. I got to say it is all pretty exciting.
