Okay, so I’ve been on this kick lately, trying to snag myself a shiny Cresselia in Pokémon. It’s, like, one of my favorite legendaries, and the shiny version with that blue moon? Forget about it, it’s gorgeous. So, I started this whole process, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey.

Getting Started
First, I had to, you know, actually get to the point in the game where I could even encounter Cresselia. I’m playing Brilliant Diamond, so that meant beating the Elite Four and getting the National Dex. That was a whole thing in itself, but I’d already done that a while back, so, check!
Then, I had to find Fullmoon Island. I remembered it was tied to that sailor in Canalave City and his sick kid. So, I flew over there, talked to the sailor, and got the quest to go to the island.
The Hunt Begins
Once I got to Fullmoon Island, I saved my game right in front of Cresselia. This is super important for shiny hunting, because you basically just keep resetting your game until you get the shiny. It’s a total grind, but it’s the only way, really.
And so, the real fun began. I’d interact with Cresselia, see if it was shiny… and if it wasn’t (which, let’s be real, was like 99.9% of the time), I’d soft reset the game. That means hitting a specific button combo to restart without saving. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat. For hours.
Keeping Track
I started keeping a little tally of how many encounters I had. At first, it was kind of motivating. “Okay, 50 encounters, surely it’ll shine soon!” Then it was, “100 encounters, come on!” Then, “500 encounters, are you kidding me?!”

- Day 1: 250 encounters. Feeling optimistic!
- Day 2: 600 encounters. Starting to doubt my life choices.
- Day 3: 1150 encounters. Seriously considered throwing my Switch.
- Day 4: …Still going…
The moment!
I was losing hope that the color would change.I decide to try one last time today.
Boom!It worked,i finally got it!
Finally seeing those blue rings was a massive wave of relief. I caught it, of course (used a Master Ball, because I wasn’t taking any chances!), and now I have my beautiful shiny Cresselia. Was it worth the hours and hours of repetitive gameplay? You know what? Absolutely.
