Hey everyone, welcome to Vera’s Corner! Today, I want to share my latest adventure with you all.
So, I started this little project because I really wanted to sell some stuff I made. I got a bunch of different things, and I figured, why not set up a little online store? It all began with me looking at all the cool stuff people were selling online. I thought, “Hey, I can do that too!”
First, I gathered all the items I wanted to sell. I have hand-dyed linen that’s perfect for cross-stitch and embroidery. I really love how they turned out, all-natural and unique. Then I picked out some naturally dyed embroidery threads to go with the linen. I made sure to have a good variety of colors and styles.
Setting up the Shop
Next, I needed a place to sell these goodies. I heard about a few platforms, but I wanted something simple. I ended up creating a basic online shop. Nothing too fancy, just something that works. I added pictures of all my products, wrote some descriptions, and set the prices. It took a while, but it was kinda fun.
I also decided to offer some homemade baked goods. I asked around and found some great local suppliers for fresh produce. I started baking and added those items to my shop as well. I thought it would be nice to offer something a little different.
Getting the Word Out
Once everything was set up, I started telling people about it. I talked to some friends, and they shared it with their friends. I even wrote a short note about what I was doing and what people could expect to find in my shop.

I also checked out some other places where people were doing similar things. I noticed a couple of folks had already stopped by my corner. It was cool to see that people were interested.
Learning as I Go
This whole thing has been a learning experience. I read some documents with exercises and answers to get some ideas. It was kinda like a workbook for running a small business. I learned about describing stuff, talking about hobbies, and even a bit about sports, though I’m not much of a sports person myself.
- Gathered all my handmade items and fresh produce.
- Created a simple online shop to display everything.
- Wrote descriptions and took pictures of each product.
- Reached out to friends and family to spread the word.
- Learned a lot from various sources and other sellers.
It’s been a fun ride, and I’m excited to see where this goes. I hope you all enjoy what I’ve put together at Vera’s Corner. Come check it out, and maybe you’ll find something you like!
