Alright, let’s talk about my experience prepping for and experiencing Unova Go Fest 2025. It was a wild ride, lemme tell ya!
Phase 1: The Hype Train Leaves the Station
So, first things first, I saw the announcement for Unova Go Fest 2025 like, months in advance. I immediately blocked out the weekend. No questions asked. Family events? Cancelled. Doctor’s appointment? Rescheduled. This was gonna be epic.
Then I started doing my research. You know, checking out leaks, old Go Fest recaps, anything to get an edge. The goal? To catch ’em all, obviously, but also to maybe snag a shiny or two that I was missing. I even started prepping my storage, transferring out all the junk Pokémon I’d been hoarding for…reasons.
Phase 2: Gearing Up and Mapping Out
Next up was the gear. I made sure my power bank was fully charged. Like, FULLY charged. No dying phone battery was gonna stop me from getting that sweet, sweet Axew candy. I also stocked up on water and snacks. Gotta stay hydrated and keep the energy levels up, right? This ain’t a sprint, it’s a marathon.
- Power Bank: Check
- Water: Check
- Snacks: Double check. (Mostly granola bars and some emergency chocolate.)
I also spent a good chunk of time scoping out my local area. I checked out spots that are usually good for spawns. Parks, plazas, that weird little alley behind the grocery store… all potential goldmines. I planned a route, thinking about where I could hit the most stops in the shortest amount of time.
Phase 3: Go Fest Day – The Grind Begins!
The day finally arrived. I woke up way too early, buzzing with anticipation. Fired up the game the second it was live and… BAM! Unova Pokémon EVERYWHERE. It was glorious.
My meticulously planned route went straight out the window. I just went wherever the spawns looked good. Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott… they were falling like rain. I even managed to snag a few rare ones early on, like a Gothita and a Solosis. Things were looking good.
Phase 4: Shiny Hunting and Raid Battles
The afternoon was all about shiny hunting. I was really hoping for a shiny Snivy, but no luck. I did manage to get a shiny Tepig though, so I wasn’t complaining. Plus, I found a random shiny Patrat, which was just hilarious. Who even looks for a shiny Patrat?
I also did a few raid battles. Kyurem was the big one, and I needed the candy to power up my existing one. Managed to get a decent one, not perfect IVs, but good enough.
Phase 5: The Final Push and the Aftermath
By the evening, I was exhausted. My feet were killing me, my phone was begging for mercy, and I was starting to see Unova Pokémon in my dreams. But I pushed on. I used some incense, dropped a lucky egg, and grinded out the last few hours.
When it was finally over, I was beat. But it was so worth it. I caught a ton of new Pokémon, got some awesome shinies, and had a blast doing it. Unova Go Fest 2025 definitely lived up to the hype.
What I learned:
- Don’t over-plan. Be ready to adapt to the spawns.
- Bring more water than you think you need.
- Comfy shoes are a MUST.
- Don’t forget to have fun! It’s just a game, after all.
