Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with this “Ready, Set, Remember!” thing I saw online. The idea is to help improve your memory, so I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”

First, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. Nothing fancy, just whatever I had lying around. The whole point is to keep it simple, right?
Getting Started
I decided to start with a list of random words. I just jotted down the first ten things that popped into my head:
- Cat
- Banana
- Blue
- Car
- Book
- Sun
- Tree
- Computer
- Phone
- Smile
The “Ready, Set” Part
Then, I set a timer on my phone for one minute. The goal here is to stare at the list and try to memorize it as best as you can in that short time. I really focused, trying to picture each word in my head, make connections, anything to help them stick.
The “Remember” Part
When the timer went off, I flipped the paper over so I couldn’t see the words. Then I grabbed another blank sheet and tried to write down as many words as I could remember. It was harder than I expected!
I managed to get eight out of ten words. Not bad for a first try, I guess. I missed “Tree” and “Smile”. I don’t be too hard on my self at the first time.

Trying Again
I did this a few more times, with different lists of words. Sometimes I used objects in the room, or names of friends, just to mix it up. Each time, I tried to beat my previous score.
It’s kind of a fun little game, and I can see how it could actually help sharpen your memory over time. You’re basically forcing your brain to work a little harder, and that’s always a good thing.
I plan to try it for a bit everyday. I will try diffrent things or way. Who knows, maybe I’ll become a memory master… or at least remember where I put my keys!
