Okay, so today I decided to mess around with some datamined stuff. Specifically, I wanted to get my hands on the Squirrel Girl model that’s been floating around. I’ve seen some cool pictures and animations, so figured, why not try to get it working myself?

Digging for the Goods
First thing’s first, I needed to find the actual files. This part was a bit of a treasure hunt. I started by hitting up the usual forums and communities where people share this kind of datamined content. It took some serious digging, lots of scrolling through threads and posts.
I eventually found a few leads that pointed me in the right direction. People were talking about specific file names and where they might be located within the game data. So, armed with this info, I went back to my own files.
Extracting the Treasure
Once I was pretty sure I had the right files, the next step was extraction. This is the trickiest part because if use wrong tool, It’s easily to be corrupted. Lucky, finally I did it.
Putting It All Together
With the model extracted, I fired up my modeling * is always that exciting moment – seeing the model finally come to life after finding.
The model, it was awesome! The detail was pretty impressive, down to the little fur textures and her bushy tail. It definitely looks like the artists put a lot of work into it, even if it’s not officially released.

Playing Around
Of course, I couldn’t just stare at it. I started playing around with the rigging, posing her in different stances. I even tried a few simple animations, just to see how she moved. It’s always fun to imagine the possibilities and how a character like this could be used in-game.
I am not very good at making the * I think I did the right things.
Wrapping Up
So yeah, that was my little datamining adventure for today. It’s always a cool feeling to uncover something hidden and bring it to light, even if it’s just for personal use. It’s like a little peek behind the curtain of game development.
