Tampa Bay Derby 2023: Horses to Watch, Discover Potential Upsets!

Must read

So, I wanna talk about my whole experience with the Tampa Bay Derby 2023. It was a wild ride, let me tell you.

Tampa Bay Derby 2023: Horses to Watch, Discover Potential Upsets!

First off, I started digging into the whole thing, you know, just trying to get a feel for what I was getting myself into. I looked up past races, who the big contenders were, and all that jazz. I saw that there were some pretty famous horses in the running, like Tapit Trice. It’s a big deal, with the winner getting points towards the Kentucky Derby, so I knew the competition would be fierce.

  • I started by checking out the race schedule. I found out that it was happening on March 11th.
  • Then, I looked into the horses that were racing. Tapit Trice was one of the names that kept popping up.
  • I also noticed that it was a qualifier for the Kentucky Derby, which made it even more exciting.

Next, I did a deep dive into the odds and the favorites. From what I could gather, there were a couple of horses, Fierceness and Sierra Leone, who were the ones to watch. But they had totally different racing styles. Fierceness likes to be up front, while Sierra Leone hangs back and makes a big push at the end. That’s some interesting stuff, right?

The day of the race, I was glued to my screen. I watched as the horses lined up, all 12 of them. A real big group, all vying for that top spot, and a shot at the $400,000 prize. It’s not just about the money, though. The top five finishers get points for the Kentucky Derby, which is a huge deal.

The race itself was intense. I watched each horse, trying to see how their styles played out. When it comes down to it, Tapit Trice, ridden by Luis Saez, ended up taking third place. Not too shabby, huh?

Putting it all together

After the race, I sat back and thought about everything. It was a real learning experience, seeing how these races work, the strategy involved, and how much goes into getting a horse ready for something like this. I mean, these are 3-year-old Thoroughbreds, racing 1 1/16 miles. It’s a whole different world. That was my firsthand experience with the Tampa Bay Derby 2023. Learned a ton, and it was a blast to watch.
