This here Sunland Park Derby 2024, it’s a big ol’ deal, you know? Like, the biggest horse race they got down there in Sunland Park. They been runnin’ horses down there for a long time, this year’s the 64th time they start. That’s a lot of horse races! Startin’ on January 5th, they said.
Now, I ain’t no fancy horse expert, but I hear tell this Sunland Derby, it’s a real important one. Some folks say it’s a warm-up, a “prep race”, they call it, for that even bigger race, the Kentucky Derby. That’s the one everyone’s always talkin’ about, all the way in Kentucky.
So, these horses, they run around that track at Sunland Park, and if they do real good, maybe they get to go to that Kentucky one. It’s like a test, I reckon. You gotta pass this Sunland Park test before you can go to the big time. They gonna have quarter horses and thoroughbreds.
I seen some names thrown around. Stronghold and Lucky Jeremy, they’re supposed to be good ones. Runnin’ in the Sunland Park Derby 2024. I guess they’re the ones to watch out for. Eight horses runnin’, is what I heard. That’s a lot of hooves poundin’ the dirt! They got rich stake races. I don’t know what that means, but it sound expensive!

They got other races too, not just the Derby. Sounds like a whole bunch of ’em, all weekend long. They call ’em “graded stakes”. Now I don’t know what that means either, but it sounds important. Probably means the horses are real good. Maybe those horses are like, A+ students, you know?
Now, I ain’t never been to Sunland Park myself, but I hear it’s a nice place. They got a casino there too, if you’re into that sort of thing. Me, I’d rather just watch the horses. There’s somethin’ about seein’ them run, all that power and speed. It’s excitin’, even for an old gal like me.
This year, 2024, it’s gonna be a big one, I bet. Lots of folks gonna be there, watchin’ those horses run. Hopin’ their favorite wins. Maybe even bettin’ a little money on it. I don’t know much about bettin’, but I know it can make things more excitin’ for some folks.
They are gonna show it on TV too. That FanDuel TV, and YouTube, and some other places. So if you can’t go down to Sunland Park yourself, you can watch it on the TV. It’s like being there, but you’re at your house!
So, if you like horses, or just like a good ol’ time, you should check out this Sunland Park Derby 2024. It’s gonna be a real hootenanny, I reckon. Just remember what I said, keep an eye on that Stronghold and Lucky Jeremy. They might just be the ones to beat. And it is the most important prep race for the Kentucky Derby. You wanna see the best horse, you gotta watch the Sunland Park Derby.

I don’t know when the Derby is exactly. I just know it’s sometime in 2024. You gotta look it up yourself. But it’s a big deal, this Sunland Park Derby 2024. Don’t you forget it. If you see a horse win there, you might see him again in Kentucky! And that, my friend, is a big deal.
They have all these things going on. Turf Championships, they call it. It all happens at Kentucky Downs, wherever that is. And Santa Anita Park got some races too. It’s all mixed up. But the important one for us is the Sunland Park Derby 2024. That’s where the good horses will be. And probably some good food, too. Can’t have a good race day without some good food, am I right?
