Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with some simple math, just to see if I could still do it. I decided to multiply 122 by 5. Nothing fancy, just a quick exercise.

Getting Started
First, I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. I could have used a calculator, but I thought doing it the old-fashioned way would be more fun. I wrote down “122 x 5” on the paper, making sure I had enough space to work it out.
The Process
I started by multiplying 5 by 2 (the last digit of 122), which is 10. I wrote down the 0 and carried over the 1, just like I learned in school.
- 5 x 2 = 10 (write down 0, carry over 1)
Next, I multiplied 5 by the next 2 (the second digit of 122) which is also 10. Then I added the 1 I carried over, so that’s 11. I wrote down 1 and carried over another 1.
- 5 x 2 = 10
- 10+1=11 (write down 1, carry over 1)
Finally, I multiplied 5 by 1 (the first digit of 122), which is 5. I added the carried-over 1, making it 6. I wrote that 6 down.
- 5 x 1 = 5
- 5+1=6 (Write down 6)
The Result
So, putting it all together, I got 610. Yep, that seemed right! A quick mental check confirmed it – 122 times 5 is definitely 610.

It was a very simple thing, but it felt good to do some manual calculation. Took me back to my school days, I will try more times in next days!
