You know, sometimes a random question just pops into your head and you can’t shake it. That happened to me the other day. I was thinking about college football, all those bowl games, and then BAM! ‘Fenway Bowl.’ Where on earth is the Fenway Bowl played? My brain just kind of stalled on that one.

I consider myself pretty clued up on sports venues, or at least I try to be. It’s like a little hobby, keeping track of these things. So when ‘Fenway Bowl’ came up, and I drew a blank, I thought, ‘Alright, challenge accepted. Time to put my “venue knowledge” to the test.’ My little personal practice session, if you will.
My first thought was, ‘Is it some new, fancy stadium named after Fenway?’ You know how they do that sometimes. But then, the ‘Fenway’ part just kept screaming ‘Boston’ at me. So, I poked around a bit, just a casual look-see, not a deep dive research project, mind you. Just me, trying to figure it out.
And it turns out, it’s simpler than I thought, but also kinda cool. The Fenway Bowl is played right there at Fenway Park! Yeah, that Fenway Park. The famous one.
So, What’s the Deal with Fenway Park?
For those who might not know, Fenway Park isn’t just any old place. It’s a legendary spot. It’s primarily a baseball park, right? Located in Boston. I remember the address being something like 4 Yawkey Way, over near Kenmore Square. It’s been the home of the Boston Red Sox since way back in 1912. Can you imagine? All that history packed into one place.
And it seems they’ve been playing baseball there, the Red Sox that is, as the city’s American League baseball team, and it’s been their main gig since 1953, at least in that specific team context. But football there? That got me thinking.

So, this whole Fenway Bowl thing, it’s actually football making a return to this iconic baseball stadium. I saw something that said, mark your calendars for December 28, 2024, for when football comes back to Fenway Park. That’s pretty neat, seeing a different sport take over such a historic baseball field.
It’s funny how these things work. You hear a name, you get curious, and then you learn something new. My little ‘practice’ of figuring this out wasn’t too shabby. It’s not like I was trying to solve world peace, just satisfy a bit of curiosity about where a game is played. Sometimes those are the most satisfying little discoveries, aren’t they? Just a simple answer to a simple question, but it adds another little piece to the puzzle of how the sports world works.
- Fenway Park: Boston.
- Mainly Baseball: Red Sox.
- But also: Football! The Fenway Bowl.
So yeah, that was my little journey with the Fenway Bowl. Just a random thought that led to a bit of a lookup and a nice little piece of info added to my mental collection. Keeps the brain cells working, I suppose! Now, if someone asks me, I’ll know. And it’s kinda cool that they are using these classic old parks for new events. Gives them a new lease on life, I guess.
