Alright, folks, let’s talk about how I finally got my hands on that Skull Key in Stardew Valley. It took me a while, I’m not gonna lie, but I finally cracked it. Here’s how it all went down.

The Grind to Level 120
First things first, I had to hit level 120 in the regular mines. This was the real time-sink. I spent days, in-game and real-life, just bashing rocks and fighting those monsters. I think I went through a million pickaxes, seriously. I made sure to upgrade my pickaxe whenever I could, because that copper one just wasn’t cutting it after a while. I packed a ton of food – cheese was my go-to, easy to make and keeps you going. Salads from the Saloon were also on the menue!
- Cheese: Easy to get from cows, solid healing.
- Salads: Gus sells them, pretty good energy boost.
- Pickaxe Upgrades: Seriously, do it. Makes life so much easier.
The Final Push.
Those last few levels were brutal. I remember one day I just kept going, floor after floor, and almost died like five times. I had to warp back to my farm a couple of times to grab more supplies and heal up. I finally hit level 120 on the floor, there was a lot of dust and monsters, I think.
Claiming the Prize
Once I hit 120, boom, there it was – the Skull Key. It just appears in your inventory. You don’t do anything special, just reach the bottom.
Unlocking the Skull Cavern
So, with the Skull Key in my virtual pocket, I headed straight to the desert. You gotta fix the bus stop first, through the community center bundles or Joja, I completed the community center, I think. It felt like the right thing to do. Once the bus was running, I hopped on, rode to the desert, and found that Skull Cavern entrance just north of the bus stop.
I used the key, the door swung open, and I was in. It was dark, scary, and full of way tougher monsters than I’d seen before. Totally worth it, though. The Skull Cavern is where the real loot is at. And that is my little story!
