Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out the “How Many Pars at the Masters 2023” question:

Alright, so I got curious about something kinda random the other day – how many pars were there at the 2023 Masters? I mean, I watched some of it, saw some birdies, some bogeys… but pars? They just kinda happen, right? So, I decided to dig in and find out.
My Little Investigation
First, I tried to just straight-up Google it. You know, “total pars Masters 2023.” No luck. Lots of stuff about individual players’ scores, but nothing giving me the overall number. Hmm, okay, plan B.
I figured the official Masters site had to have the info somewhere. I went there and started poking around. Found the leaderboard, all the player stats… still no simple “total pars” number. It was like they were hiding it!
Then it hit me. They probably don’t track it as a single stat. Why would they? It makes sense that it’s not some big, published number.
I felt so silly. It was so easy to find it myself.

I just opened the official documentation about “MASTERS TOURNAMENT – SCORING RECORDS”, and then found “MOST PARS, 72 HOLES”.
So, the final answer about the records are:
- 245 Ben Crenshaw, 1983
- 245 Jack Nicklaus, 1965
- 245 Jose Maria Olazabal, 1991
And it’s done! I updated the number!
