So, I saw this headline today – “Jack Hartmann Passed Away.” Man, that hit me kinda hard. I remember using his songs all the time when my kids were little. Figured I’d do a little digging and see what I could find out, and maybe share some memories.
Remembering Jack
First thing I did was a quick search. Just typed in “Jack Hartmann” to see what popped up. Mostly news articles about his passing, which was sad, but also a lot of links to his music and videos. I clicked on a few of those.
Wow, talk about a blast from the past! I started playing some of the songs I used to use with my own kids, like “The Cool Bear Hunt” and “Tooty Ta.” It was awesome to hear them again.
- I used to have a whole playlist.
- I went and grabbed my old external hard drive.
- Started digging through it.
I actually found some old videos I’d totally forgotten about! There was one of my daughter, probably around three years old, doing all the actions to “The Cool Bear Hunt.” She was so into it, it was hilarious. And another one of my son, a little older, singing along to one of Jack’s alphabet songs. He was struggling with a couple of the letters, but he was trying so hard.
Sharing the Memories
After watching those, I felt like I had to share them somehow. You know, spread the love a little. So I picked a couple of the best ones and put them up on my, private family page.
I thought about all the other parents and teachers out there who probably used Jack Hartmann’s music too. I’m sure they have their own memories and stories. It’s amazing how something as simple as a children’s song can create such strong connections and bring back so many feelings.
It’s definitely a sad day, but I’m glad I took the time to remember Jack Hartmann and all the good he brought into the world through his music. He helped make learning fun for so many kids, including my own. And that’s a pretty awesome legacy to leave behind.
