Pumas vs. Pachuca: Who is going to win the big game? Check predictions here!

Must read

Alright, so I was all set for that Pumas vs. Pachuca game the other day. Really looking forward to it, you know? Had my routine planned out.

First thing, gotta have the right snacks. Went out earlier, grabbed some chips, the spicy kind, and a couple of beers. Got back, cleared the coffee table – no clutter allowed during the match. Fired up the TV, checked the channel listing like three times. Everything seemed good to go.

Then, maybe 15 minutes before kickoff, the doorbell rings. Wasn’t expecting anyone. Looked through the peephole, it’s my neighbor, Mrs. Gable. Nice lady, but talks a lot. Opened the door.

She needed help with her Wi-Fi password. Again. Okay, fine, I thought, quick job. Went over to her place. Took me like five minutes to find the router behind a stack of old magazines. Found the sticker, wrote it down for her. Easy peasy, right?

Got back to my place. Game should be starting right now. Turned my attention back to the TV… and the screen’s black. Cable box just blinking this weird orange light. Seriously? Right now?

Tackling the Tech Issue

So, first things first, unplugged the box. Waited the standard 30 seconds, plugged it back in. Nothing. Still blinking. Okay, deep breaths. Went through the usual checklist:

  • Checked the connections in the back. All tight.
  • Tried a different HDMI port. Nope.
  • Even reset the whole modem and router setup, just in case it was some weird network thing.

Took ages. By the time I was fiddling with the router, I knew I was missing the first half for sure. My phone starts buzzing – work email. Urgent. Of course. Had to deal with that too, standing there while the cable box mocked me with its blinking light.

Long story short, I missed the entire damn game. The cable finally came back on sometime deep into the second half after I called support and went through their whole script, but by then, I’d lost the mood. Just felt… frustrated. Spent the whole evening troubleshooting instead of relaxing.

It got me thinking, funny enough, about my first job out of college. Not the job itself, but how things just go sideways sometimes, no matter how much you plan. Had this big presentation, practiced for weeks. Day comes, projector bulb blows. Just like that. Had to wing it with handouts. It worked out okay in the end, but man, the stress. Sometimes you just gotta roll with it, I guess. Still, would’ve liked to see that Pumas game live.
