Alright, guys, so today I wanted to mess around with this “Pops Speed Racer” thing. I had no idea what it was at first, so I did some digging around the internet. It’s apparently some kind of animation project. Sounds cool, right? I figured, why not give it a shot?

First thing I did was download the project files. Took a bit of time ’cause my internet was being a little slow today. You know how it is. Once it was all downloaded, I unzipped everything and started poking around.

There were a bunch of folders and files, and honestly, I was a bit lost at first. But I started opening things up, checking out the code, and trying to get a feel for how it all worked. I opened up the main file in my code editor, and boom, a whole bunch of code that I didn’t fully understand. Classic.

So, I started with the basics. I ran the main script, and… nothing. Great start, right? Just kidding. Turns out I was missing some dependencies. You know, those annoying little things you need to install before you can actually run a program. So I went through the documentation – which was actually pretty good, I gotta say – and figured out what I needed.

After installing all the necessary packages, I tried running the script again, and this time, it worked! Sort of. I got a window to pop up, but it was just a black screen. Progress, I guess?

Next, I started messing around with the code, changing some values here and there, just to see what would happen. It was kind of like playing with a new toy, except instead of plastic bricks, it was lines of code. After a few hours of trial and error, and a lot of Googling, I finally got something to show up on the screen! It was just a simple animation, but hey, it was something. That means I made something from scratch successfully.

I kept tweaking things, adding new features, and trying to make the animation more interesting. It was a slow process, but I was learning a lot along the way. By the end of the day, I had a pretty cool little animation running. It wasn’t exactly “Speed Racer,” but it was my own little creation. And I felt good about it.
