Playing Among Us With Friends Online: Tips for Communication, Strategy, and Avoiding Impostor Betrayal

Must read

Okay, so I saw this title floating around, “Among Us Friends,” and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, who doesn’t love a good social deduction game, right?

So, I gathered a bunch of my friends, some newbies, some who’d played it before. We jumped into a Discord call, and started a private game. First time, I’m just a regular crewmate, running around, doing my tasks. Or at least, trying to look like I’m doing tasks. I’ll admit, I’m not the best at faking it. I kept bumping into people, which probably made me look super sus.

But then, the magic happened! I got to be the imposter. Oh boy, the power! First round as imposter, I was a bit clumsy. I vented right in front of someone, classic rookie mistake. Yeah, I got voted out pretty fast. Learned my lesson there.

Tried-and-True Tricks

  • Spamming that “Use” button like there’s no tomorrow.
  • Or spamming my hat or pet, because why not?
  • Running in circles like a headless chicken.

I read somewhere that you should “lean on the fake tasks.” So I started doing that more. I’d stand at the task locations, pretend to download data or whatever. I even started throwing out accusations, trying to deflect. “Guys, I saw blue vent!” when I was the one who vented. Bold, I know.

And guess what? It worked! I actually won a few rounds as an imposter. The adrenaline rush is real, folks. But also, the guilt. I felt bad lying to my friends, but hey, it’s all part of the game, right?

We played for a few hours, and it was a blast. Lots of yelling, lots of laughs, and a few broken friendships, maybe. But we all agreed to play again soon. If you’re looking for a fun game to play with your friends, I’d definitely recommend “Among Us.” Just be prepared to question everyone and everything!
