Okay, so today I wanted to mess around and play some basketball with a couple of friends. But we were bored of regular games, so we decided to play a game of HORSE. None of us had played in a while, so we were all pretty rusty, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
First things first, we needed to figure out the shooting order. We decided to do a quick free-throw shootout, and the order would go from who made the most to the least. I went first and somehow managed to sink it, so I got to start. Lucky me!
Getting Started
We picked a spot behind the three-point line to start. I’ve always loved a good challenge. I took a deep breath, lined up my shot, and… swish! Nothing but net. I could feel the pressure on my friends to match it. My first buddy stepped up, took his shot, and… bricked it. He got the ‘H’. My other friend, a little more composed, managed to make the shot, so he was still clean.
Keeping the Game Going
- Round 1: I made a three-pointer. Friend 1 missed, got an ‘H’. Friend 2 made it.
- Round 2: I tried a trick shot, spinning the ball on my finger before shooting. Missed it badly! My turn to get a letter, and I got the ‘H’. Both my friends decided to play it safe with a regular jump shot from the free-throw line and made it.
- Round 3: I went for a simple layup, made it. Friend 1 matched it. Friend 2, trying to show off, attempted a hook shot and missed, getting an ‘HO’.
We kept playing like this, trying out different shots, some successful, some not so much. We had a good laugh with each miss and celebrated every successful shot, no matter how ridiculous it looked.
The Final Showdown
After a few more rounds, my first friend was out with ‘HORSE’. It was down to me and my other friend. He was at ‘HORS’, and I was at ‘HOR’. I knew I had to make my next shot to stay in the game. I decided to go for a classic jump shot from just inside the key. I focused, took the shot, and… yes! Made it!
Now it was his turn. He chose a bank shot from the side. It was a tough one. He took his time, aimed carefully, and shot. The ball bounced off the backboard… and rolled out. He got the ‘E’, and I won the game!
