Okay, so I finally got around to messing with the Theurgy stuff in Persona 3 Reload. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey, so I figured I’d share what I did.

Getting Started
First things first, I had to actually unlock the Theurgy skills. It’s not something you have right from the jump. I spent a good chunk of time just playing through the game normally, you know, leveling up my Personas, fighting Shadows, and doing the whole Tartarus thing.
I noticed that each character has their own unique way of charging up their Theurgy gauge. Like, for Yukari, it’s all about healing. The more she patched up the team, the faster that gauge filled. For Junpei, it was all about landing those sweet, sweet critical hits. So I really started focusing on building my team and playstyle around that.
Experimenting with Different Characters
Once I had a feel for how each character’s gauge filled, I started experimenting. I swapped out party members, tried different Personas, and even messed around with different equipment to see what would boost those Theurgy skills.
- Yukari: I made sure she had plenty of healing skills and gear that boosted her SP.
- Junpei: Focused on getting his critical hit rate as high as possible.
- Akihiko: Debuffs! Lowering enemy defense and stuff helped him charge up.
- Fuuka: Her Oracle skill is technically a Theurgy skill and charges during battle.
- Mitsuru: Inflicting status ailments, I used Marin Karin alot.
- Aigis: Changed to Orgia Mode.
- Koromaru: Use of Dark skills.
- Ken: Use of Light skills.
- Shinjiro: Using HP, I used skills that use some HP to work.
Putting It All Together
The real “aha!” moment came when I started thinking about team synergy. It wasn’t just about individually charging each character’s Theurgy gauge. It was about how they worked together. I started planning my battles around setting up big, coordinated Theurgy attacks. Like, I’d have Akihiko weaken the enemies, then have Junpei go for criticals, all while Yukari kept everyone healthy, so she could unleash her Theurgy attack when it was fully charged.
It took practice. Lots of it. I wiped a few times in Tartarus figuring things out, but it was totally worth it. Seeing those Theurgy skills go off one after another, especially in a tough boss fight, was just awesome.

Final Thoughts
Honestly, the Theurgy system added a whole new layer to the combat in Persona 3 Reload. It’s not just about hitting hard; it’s about strategy, timing, and teamwork. I’m still figuring out new combinations and ways to optimize my setup, but that’s part of the fun. My biggest piece of advice? Don’t be afraid to experiment! You might be surprised at what you discover.
