My Paramount Plus Super Bowl Commercial Adventure
Okay, so everyone was talking about the Super Bowl, and you know me, I’m usually more interested in the snacks and, yeah, the commercials. This year, I heard Paramount Plus was making a big splash with theirs, so I thought, “Alright, let’s give this a proper look.” It’s one of those things, you hear the hype, and you just gotta see it for yourself, right? So, this is pretty much how my little experiment went down.

First off, I had to actually get myself onto Paramount Plus. Sounds simple, but you know how these things can be. I grabbed my tablet, because sometimes the TV app is just a bit slow on the uptake for what I want to do. Found the app, tapped it. Then the fun part: remembering my login. I swear, I have about a dozen different streaming service logins, and they all blur together. Took me a good two, maybe three tries. Kept telling myself, “It’s this password, it’s gotta be!” Finally, green light, I was in. Small victory, but I’ll take it.
Next up, finding the actual commercials. This is where it got a bit… interesting. I figured there’d be a big, shiny button saying “SUPER BOWL COMMERCIALS HERE!” Not quite.
- I poked around the main page for a bit. Lots of shows, movies, the usual stuff.
- Then I tried the search bar. Typed in “Super Bowl commercials.” Got some results, but it wasn’t like a neat little playlist right away.
- Ended up finding the game replay, or a highlights section that had the game. My plan was just to skip through to the commercial breaks. Old school, I know, but sometimes it’s the easiest way.
So, I started the stream of the game. The picture quality was decent, gotta give them that. I wasn’t really watching the game, game, you know? I was on a mission. My finger was hovering over the fast-forward button. Game play, fast forward. Cheering, fast forward. Announcers talking, fast forward. Ah, there we go, a commercial break!
Actually watching them was pretty straightforward from there. I’d watch a block of them, then back to fast-forwarding through the game segments. Some were funny, some were kinda weird, some made you think. That’s the Super Bowl commercial experience, isn’t it? A real mixed bag. I made sure to watch the ones that people were buzzing about, especially anything that looked like it was a Paramount specific promotion. They really do try to weave their own stuff in there, don’t they?
I spent a fair bit of time doing this, probably more than I’d admit. Skipping, watching, rewinding a few if I missed something or if my kid distracted me. It wasn’t the most elegant process, I’ll be honest. I sort of wish they just had a dedicated, easily findable “All Super Bowl Commercials 202X” section, click and play. Maybe they do and I just missed it in my fumbling, who knows. These apps, they all have their own logic, and sometimes it doesn’t match mine.

At the end of it all, did I see the Paramount Plus Super Bowl commercials? Yes, I did. Was it a seamless, perfectly curated experience? Not entirely, but I got there. It was a bit of a self-directed hunt, but that’s sometimes part of the fun, or at least, part of the process. So, yeah, that was my little adventure into the world of streaming Super Bowl ads this year. Another one for the books, I guess!
