Alright, so I heard there was a Palworld update today. You know how it is, when a game you’re sinking hours into gets a patch, you kinda hold your breath a little, hoping it’s for the better. First thing I did, naturally, was to fire up my PC and get Steam going. Couldn’t wait to see what they’d tweaked this time.

Checking for the Update and Getting it Done
So, Steam opened, and sure enough, there was Palworld in my downloads queue. It wasn’t a massive one, which was a bit of a relief. Sometimes those huge updates take forever, and I just wanted to get back to my base, you know? The download itself was pretty smooth, chugged along at a decent speed. I grabbed a coffee while it was doing its thing. No hiccups there, thankfully. Once it finished, Steam did its usual “patching” thing, and then it was ready to go. My fingers were itching to click “Play”.
Hopping In-Game: First Impressions
Launched the game. Load times felt about the same, maybe a tiny bit quicker, but that could just be me being optimistic. My main world loaded up, and I immediately started looking around my main base. You know, you kinda get a feel for things. Were my Pals still getting stuck on that one annoying rock near the assembly line? That’s always my first check.
I spent a good hour or so just messing around. Here’s what I kinda noticed, or at least, what it felt like to me:
- Things seemed a little bit smoother in areas with lots of Pals. My main base can get pretty hectic.
- I didn’t immediately run into any new, glaring bugs, which is always a plus. That’s a win in my book.
- Some of the pathing for the Pals working around the base might have been improved? Or maybe I just got lucky today. Fewer of them seemed to be staring blankly at walls.
I didn’t spot any massive new features or content drops right off the bat. Looked like one of those under-the-hood type updates, maybe some optimization or bug squashing. And honestly, I’m okay with that. Stability is key, especially with a game this complex. I went out for a bit of exploring, captured a couple of new Pals just to see if anything felt different in combat or with their AI. Everything seemed pretty much as expected, which, again, is not a bad thing for a quick update.
My Takeaway from Today’s Patching Adventure
So, after a few hours with this new version, I’d say it was a pretty uneventful update process, and that’s good. The game still runs, my save is intact, and things might even be a tiny bit more polished. I didn’t see any patch notes pop up immediately, so I’m just going off my gut feeling here from playing. It’s always a bit of a gamble with early access titles, but Palworld’s been pretty solid for me overall. Happy to see them still working on it, chipping away at making it better. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some Pals that need assigning to tasks. Back to the grind!
