So, yesterday was a bit of a mess, I gotta tell ya. We were all set for the Padres game, right? Hyped up, ready to see the boys in action. We got to the stadium, found our seats, and were just settling in with our snacks when things started to look a bit gloomy.

It was the game between the Padres and the Tigers. The first two innings, everything was going smoothly. But then, out of nowhere, the skies just opened up. I mean, it started pouring buckets! We tried to stick it out, hoping it would pass quickly, but no such luck.
They had to call for a rain delay, and let me tell you, waiting around was a real bummer. We huddled under the overhangs, trying to stay dry, but it was no use. Everyone was getting soaked, and the mood kinda went downhill. We waited and waited, refreshing our phones for any updates, but it was just more rain and more waiting.
- Got to the stadium, all excited.
- Game started, two innings in, looking good.
- Rain came down like crazy.
- Rain delay called, everyone scrambled for cover.
- Waited for what felt like forever.
Here’s how it went down:
There was also another game the following day, the Padres were playing against the Braves. We were so excited about this game, too. But guess what? It was postponed because of rain and lightning! Can you believe it? They’re going to do a split doubleheader on Monday now, but the waiting is just killing us fans.
And to make matters worse, I heard about this game between the Padres and the Dodgers, where fans started throwing stuff onto the field. I mean, seriously? It caused a 12-minute delay! Can you imagine being there when all that happened? And the word is, apparently, fans wanted to throw stuff in another game, too. What’s up with that, huh?
But hey, even with all the waiting and the chaos, we still managed to have some fun. We met some other die-hard fans, shared some stories, and just tried to make the best of it. And you know what? It made me realize that being a Padres fan is about more than just the game. It’s about the community, the shared passion, and sticking it out together, rain or shine.

So, yeah, that was my experience with the Padres game delay. A bit of a letdown, for sure, but we’ll be back. We’re always back. Go Padres!
