Man, I gotta share this cool thing I did today. It’s all about that “ohtani celebration” pose, you know, the one he does after hitting a home run? I tried to recreate it, and it was a blast!
Getting Started
First, I watched a bunch of videos of Ohtani doing his thing. I wanted to get the stance and the arm movement just right. I must’ve watched like ten different home run celebrations. It looks easy when he does it, but there’s definitely some technique involved!
The Practice
- I started by getting my feet set. Kinda wide, like I’d just swung a bat.
- Then I practiced the arm pump. It’s not just a fist pump, it’s more like a… flex, I guess?
- I kept messing with the angle of my arm. Too high, too low…it took a few tries.
My first few attempts? Awkward. I felt like a robot trying to dance. My wife was laughing her head off, which, you know, didn’t exactly help my confidence. But I kept at it.
Figuring It Out
The key, I realized, was the little hop. Ohtani does this little hop-skip thing as he’s rounding the bases. That’s what gives it the energy! So, I started incorporating that, and it felt way more natural.
Nailed it(kinda)
After maybe 20 minutes of goofing around in the living room, I think I got something that resembled the Ohtani celebration. It wasn’t perfect, but it was close! It felt awesome, it is fun and make people exciting, I get it now!
The “performance”
I even made my wife film me doing it, so I will continue to practice. I might even bust it out the next time I hit a good shot in my beer league softball game. Who knows, maybe it’ll become my signature move!
Anyway, it was a fun little experiment. I don’t know, I recommend trying it, it really make me laugh for an afternoon, that’s enough, and do some exercise.
