Okay, so I wanted to see a Mets game, but I didn’t want to break the bank. I heard about these “standing room only” tickets and figured I’d give them a shot. Here’s how it went down.

First, I went on the Mets’ website. It took a little bit of digging, but I found the section for single-game tickets. There was a bunch of options, but I spotted the “standing room only” ones. They were way cheaper than regular seats!
The buying process was easy. I picked the game I wanted, added the standing room only tickets to my cart, and checked out. Boom! Tickets were emailed to me.
Game Day!
I got to Citi Field a little early, just to get my bearings. I asked one of the ushers where to go for standing room, and they pointed me in the right direction. Turns out, there are a few different areas around the stadium where you can stand and watch.
- Some spots were on the field level, kinda behind the regular seats.
- Others were higher up, giving you a bird’s-eye view.
I wandered around a bit and found a spot I liked on the field level. It was pretty crowded, but I managed to squeeze in and get a decent view of the action.
The cool thing about standing room is the freedom. You’re not stuck in one place. I moved around a few times during the game, checking out different viewpoints. I even grabbed a beer and a hot dog without having to worry about missing any plays.

Honestly, it was a blast! The energy in the standing room sections was awesome. Everyone was super into the game, cheering and having a good time. It felt like a big party.
Would I do it again? Totally! If you’re looking for a cheap way to see a Mets game and you don’t mind standing, it’s a great option. Just be prepared for crowds and get there early to snag a good spot!
