Starting the Search
So, the game was starting soon, and my first instinct was just flipping channels. You know how it is. Checked the big sports networks first – ESPN, FS1, TBS – the usual suspects. Nope, not there tonight. Happens a lot, actually.

Knowing the network name helps, but you still need the actual channel number. I’ve got DirecTV, so I pulled up the guide and started scrolling. Took a few minutes, but I eventually landed on it. Channel 690. That’s the HD feed for Spectrum SportsNet LA on my service. It might be different if you have Spectrum cable itself or another provider, you gotta check your own guide, obviously.
Checking Out Streaming
Now, sometimes I’m not right in front of the main TV. So, I poked around a bit to see what the streaming options are these days. I saw mentions of this SNLA+ thing. Apparently, it’s something new-ish where you can stream the Spectrum SportsNet LA channel directly. Looks like you gotta use the MLB app or maybe their website.
The key thing I noticed is that this SNLA+ stream is specifically for people who live in the Dodgers’ broadcast area. If you’re local, you can subscribe and watch the games, plus all the pre-game and post-game stuff, right on your phone or tablet or whatever through the app. Makes sense.
I also saw stuff about *, which is usually more for watching games when you don’t live in the team’s area. But it looks like sometimes you can get the SportsNet LA stream through the MLB app too, maybe as part of a package, especially for local fans. It gets a bit confusing, but the main point is, the MLB app seems to be the place to look for streaming if you’re local.
How I Watched
Tonight, I just stuck with the TV. Found channel 690 and settled in. Easy enough once I remembered where to look. Watched the pre-game chatter too, which is usually part of the deal on that channel.
So yeah, that was my process. Usually starts with checking the main sports channels, then remembering it’s Spectrum SportsNet LA, finding the number on my guide (690 for me), or checking the MLB app if I need to stream it locally via SNLA+. A bit of a routine now, I guess.
