Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to get into this whole “Nations Cup Qualifiers” thing for a while now, and this year, I finally took the plunge. It all started when I was watching some game highlights online, and I thought, “Why not keep track of this stuff properly?” So, I decided to document the entire process.
First off, I had to figure out where to even find the schedule and results. It took a bit of digging around, but I eventually found the official site, I bookmarked it because I knew I’d be refreshing that page like crazy.
Next, I set up a simple spreadsheet to record the scores. Nothing fancy, just the team names, dates, and scores. I decided that was enough.
Then came the actual matches. Man, some of these games were intense! I remember one particular match, England vs. Greece. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Greece, the underdogs, actually won! It was a major upset, and it’s moments like those that make following sports so thrilling.
- I also watched the Belgium vs. Belarus game. Belgium just cruised to victory. They had some new players scoring for the first time internationally, which was cool to see.
- And of course, I followed the first round where Fiji celebrated their day with a win over the Solomon Islands. These were some seriously tough matches.
- I jotted down all the results in my spreadsheet as soon as they were final. It felt good to see the data growing.
I kept this up throughout the group stage and even into the knockout rounds. By the end of it, I had a pretty comprehensive record of the qualifiers. It was a lot of work, but it was also really satisfying.
Reflecting back
This whole experience taught me a lot about the dedication it takes to follow a tournament closely. And it was amazing to witness such a perfect international social event. Plus, I now have this awesome spreadsheet that I can look back on whenever I want to relive those exciting moments.
