Oh boy, let me tell you about the time I decided to get into tennis. I’ve always been more of a sit-on-the-couch-and-watch-sports kind of guy, but there’s something about tennis that got me interested. So, I thought, why not give it a try? And who better to start with than a name I stumbled upon – Alexandre Muller. Yeah, I’d never heard of him before either, but that’s part of the adventure, right?

First things first, I needed to find out where this Muller guy was playing. Turns out, he was going to be in a few tournaments. One was the BANK OF CHINA HONG KONG TENNIS OPEN, another was the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships. I even found out about a match he had on September 22, 2024. Apparently, he lost that one, 6-4, 2-6. Bummer. But hey, it happens, even to the pros.
So, I dug a little deeper. I found that Muller was going to play against some guy named Marc-Andrea Huesler in Hong Kong. The match was scheduled for Tuesday at 12:00 pm on COURT 2. Then there was another match against Marin Cilic in Belgrade, set for Monday at 11:00 am on CENTRE COURT. The man was busy, I’ll give him that. Also, there was a mention of a match with Andrey Rublev at the Stockholm Open. This was getting interesting, like following a soap opera, but with more sweat.
Now, how does one watch these matches? That was the million-dollar question. This is where it got a bit tricky. I found out that some matches were streamed on some online platforms. I also discovered that some people watched it on a betting platform, bet365, which apparently offered it for free if you had some money in your account. But let’s be honest, I wasn’t about to start betting on tennis just to watch a match.
Then there was something about watching it on Fubo. They said, “Use our link to sign up for a free trial.” Sounded tempting, but I’m always wary of those free trials. You know how it goes, you sign up, forget about it, and then bam, you’re charged for a subscription you never wanted.
Here’s what I actually did:

- Watched some clips: I found some highlights of Muller’s matches online. It wasn’t the same as watching a live match, but it gave me a feel for his playing style. He’s got a decent serve, I’ll say that.
- Followed live scores: For the matches I couldn’t watch, I followed the live scores online. It’s not as exciting, but at least I could keep up with what was happening.
- Read about the matches: After each match, I’d read the news articles about it. It’s interesting to see what the experts had to say about Muller’s performance. Some were good, some were not so good.
In the end, did I become a die-hard Muller fan? Not really. But did I enjoy following his matches and learning more about tennis? Absolutely. It was a fun little project, and it got me off the couch for a bit. Who knows, maybe I’ll even pick up a racket myself one day. But for now, I’m content with being a spectator, watching from the comfort of my own home, without any surprise subscription charges.
