Okay, so I got curious the other day about my old basketball cards. I used to be a huge Michael Jordan fan, and I remembered I had a few of his cards tucked away. I was wondering, “how much michael jordan basketball card worth?” So I started digging.
The Hunt Begins
First, I pulled out my old shoebox full of cards. It was a mess! Cards everywhere, some bent, some in pretty good shape. I knew I had at least one Jordan card in there, maybe more.
After some serious searching, I found three! One was a pretty common-looking one, another was a bit flashier, and the third was in a protective sleeve – I must have thought that one was special at some point.
Getting Down to Business
Next, I went online. I started with a simple search, just to see what the general market was like. I saw a bunch of different websites and price ranges. It was pretty overwhelming, to be honest.
I realized pretty quickly that the condition of the card is a HUGE deal. Like, the difference between a card being worth a few bucks and a few hundred (or even thousand!) is all about whether it has creases, bent corners, or scratches. Ouch!
Figuring Out My Cards
- My first card, the common one, looked like it had been through the wringer. Probably not worth much.
- The second card, the flashier one, was in better shape, but still had some wear and tear. Maybe worth something?
- The third card, the one in the sleeve, was in pretty good condition. I started to get a little excited!
Checking Prices (Roughly)
I spent some time looking at different online marketplaces. It was tough to figure out the exact value because there are so many variations of Jordan cards. But I got a general idea.
It looks like my beat-up card isn’t going to make me rich. The second one might be worth a little bit, maybe enough for a nice dinner. And the sleeved card? That one could actually be worth a decent amount! I’m talking maybe a few hundred dollars, possibly more if I got it professionally graded.
What’s Next?
I’m not sure what I’ll do yet. I might try to sell the better card, or I might just keep them for the memories. It was fun doing the research, though! It’s amazing how much value these little pieces of cardboard can hold.
