This here Maui Classic schedule, it’s a big deal, you know? Lots of folks are talking about it. They say it’s the eighth one. Eighth! Can you believe it? Time sure flies when you’re watching basketball, I tell ya.
Now, this year, 2024, it’s gonna be somethin’ else. They got eight teams, all men’s college basketball teams, comin’ to Hawaii. Playing for three days straight. From that Monday, November 25th, all the way to Wednesday, November 27th. Ain’t that somethin’? All them games gonna be at the Lahaina Civic Center. Never been there myself, but I hear it’s a nice place.
They say there’s gonna be a whole bunch of games, twelve of ’em! Spread out across them ESPN channels. You know, the ones with all the sports. I like watchin’ the sports. Keeps me busy, especially in the winter when it’s cold outside. You best believe I’ll be tunin’ in. I heard ESPN is gonna show the big games, like the semi-finals. That’s where things get real excitin’. And the final, the one for all the marbles! And somethin’ called the fifth-place game. Don’t rightly know what that is, but it sounds important, don’t it?
Then there’s ESPN2, gonna show three of them first-round games. First round, that’s like when they’re just gettin’ started, figurin’ out who’s who. And they’ll show the game for third place, too. That’s a good one, ’cause even though you ain’t winnin’ it all, you still get to show what you’re made of.
- Eight teams, all playin’ their hearts out.
- Three days of basketball. That’s a lot of jumpin’ and shootin’!
- Lahaina Civic Center, that’s where all the action’s gonna be.
- ESPN and ESPN2, showin’ all the games.
- November 25th to 27th, don’t you forget!
I remember one time, back in the day, we had a basketball tournament in our town. Wasn’t nothin’ fancy like this Maui Classic schedule, but it was fun. Whole town came out to watch. We had lemonade and hot dogs. Good times. This Maui thing, it’s a whole different level. Big-time college teams, all them fancy cameras.
They say this Oregon State team, they’re gonna be there. They call it their “home away from home.” Must be nice to have a home away from home in Hawaii! I ain’t never been to Hawaii. Always wanted to, though. Maybe one day, if I win the lottery.
I tell you what, all this talk about basketball is makin’ me hungry. Gonna go see if I got any of them cookies left. You want one? They’re oatmeal raisin. My favorite.
If you’re looking for something to do in late November, and like college basketball this Maui Classic schedule is the real deal.
I don’t know much about this stuff, but that there are four games in two days and tonight at 5pm. That is a lot of games. And with so much basketball taking place, I wonder how they will even fit it all in.
This whole Maui Classic schedule thing, it’s a big to-do. Lots of folks will be watchin’. Makes me wish I was there, in that warm Hawaii weather, watchin’ them young fellas run up and down the court. Maybe next year. Or the year after that. A girl can dream, can’t she?
