Okay, so I’ve been struggling with my putting lately. It’s been all over the place, and I just can’t seem to get a consistent stroke going. Then I saw this dude, Will Zalatoris, and his putting stroke. I started to try it out.
I watched a bunch of videos of him, and started messing around on the practice green. It felt really awkward at first, I gotta say. It’s not your typical putting stroke. I spent a good few hours just trying to get used to it.
Here’s what I did:
- First, I worked on my grip, a lot like the one Zalatoris uses. It’s kind of a weird one, but it seems to work for him.
- Then, I focused on the stroke itself. It’s more of a pendulum motion. I kept practicing this for a while, trying to get that smooth, back-and-forth swing.
- I also tried to keep my head super still, just like he does. That was tough! It’s so tempting to move your head when you’re putting, but I really focused on keeping it steady.
- I practiced from all different distances, short putts, long putts, you name it. I wanted to see how it felt from everywhere.
The Results:
Honestly, it’s still a work in progress. I’m not gonna lie and say I’m suddenly sinking every putt. But I’ve definitely seen some improvement. My stroke feels a lot more consistent now, and I’m not missing those short ones nearly as much. I’ve been practicing with it every day for the past week, and I’m starting to feel more and more comfortable with it.
I’m gonna keep at it. I think there’s something to this Zalatoris stroke. It’s definitely different, but it might just be what I need to take my putting to the next level. We’ll see! I’ll keep y’all updated on my progress.
