Okay, so I tried out the Fujita golf swing today, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey. I’ve been trying to get my swing right for a while now, so I thought, why not give this a shot?

First things first, I started with the setup. I focused on my grip, making sure it was firm but not too tight. Then, I worked on my posture, you know, trying to get that athletic stance just like the pros. Ball position was next. I experimented a bit, moving the ball slightly forward and backward to see what felt best.
Once I felt somewhat comfortable with the setup, I moved on to the takeaway. This is where things started to get tricky. I tried to rotate my shoulders smoothly while keeping my arms relatively straight. It felt awkward at first, like I was all arms and no body. But I kept at it, trying to get that feeling of coiling up like a spring.
Then came the backswing. This is where I really focused on turning my left shoulder, as I’m right-handed. The idea is to get that full shoulder turn to generate power. I also worked on extending my arms fully once I completed the shoulder turn. It’s like you’re winding up for a big release. It felt like I was making a huge arc with my arms, and honestly, it was tough to keep it consistent.
- Grip: Tried to keep it strong but not like I was choking the club.
- Posture: Bent my knees a bit, leaned forward from the hips, you know, the usual.
- Ball Position: Played around with it, no magic spot yet.
- Takeaway: Shoulder rotation is key, arms straight but not stiff.
- Backswing: Big shoulder turn, full arm extension, felt like a stretch!
I spent a good amount of time just practicing these parts, over and over. I even tried to visualize what I had learned online. It wasn’t pretty, but I felt like I was making some progress. My swings were all over the place at first, but slowly, I started to feel a bit more in control. The more I practiced, the more I realized that a good swing is all about syncing up your body movements.
My Two Cents
It’s definitely not easy, and I’m not hitting like a pro yet, but I think I’m onto something. Gotta keep practicing and maybe get a few tips from someone who actually knows what they’re doing. All in all, this was a lot harder than it looks on TV. Getting the swing down takes time, and I’ve got a long way to go. I realized that controlling your swing really does mean controlling your game. I’m going to stick with it, and hopefully, I’ll see some improvement in my game soon.
