My Trip to Oakridge Farm
So, I ended up going to Oakridge Farm the other day. Been meaning to check it out for a while, heard it was a decent place to just wander around, get away from the usual noise. Didn’t have big plans, just wanted to see it for myself.

Getting there was straightforward enough. Hopped in the car, put the address in the map thingy. Took about an hour, mostly country roads once I got off the main highway. Found the entrance easily, parked the car. Wasn’t too crowded, which was nice.
First thing I did was just walk. Took the path that led past the main barn. You could smell that farm smell, you know? Earthy, bit of hay, bit of animal. Wasn’t bad, just… real. Saw some chickens scratching around near a coop. They didn’t seem bothered by me at all.
What I Spent My Time Doing:
- Walked along the main path towards the fields.
- Stopped by a fenced area, saw a couple of cows just chewing grass. Pretty peaceful sight.
- Looked at some old farm equipment they had sitting near one of the sheds. Stuff looked like it had worked hard.
- Found a bench under a big tree and just sat there for maybe 20 minutes. Listened to the birds, felt the breeze.
- Didn’t really interact much with anyone, just observed. Saw a couple of families wandering about too.
It wasn’t anything fancy, you know? No big activities that I saw, or maybe I just missed them. It felt more like a working place that lets people look around a bit. Simple. Saw some vegetable patches too, looked like they grow quite a bit there.
After about an hour and a half, I felt like I’d seen what I came to see. Just a quiet, working farm. Headed back to the car, drove home. Felt pretty refreshed, actually. Sometimes just seeing green fields and hearing nothing much is exactly what you need. Yeah, a decent little trip.
