I’ve been a fan of Ewan McGregor for a while, you know, ever since the “Trainspotting” days. And when I heard about his motorcycle adventures with Charley Boorman, I was hooked. I watched “Long Way Round” and “Long Way Down” and thought, “Man, that’s the life!” So, imagine my excitement when I heard about “Long Way Home”!
I immediately cleared my schedule. I mean, it’s Ewan McGregor on a motorcycle, exploring new places, how could I resist? I grabbed my favorite snacks, got comfy on the couch, and started binging the episodes on Apple TV+.
- First, they kicked things off at Ewan’s place in Scotland. It was cool to see a bit of his home turf before they embarked on this epic journey.
- Then, they started their 10,000-mile loop, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride. I’ve got some episodes in so far, and it is crazy!
- I followed along with them on the map, episode by episode, getting a sense of the sheer scale of their adventure.
- I watched as they encountered different landscapes, cultures, and people along the way. It was like traveling the world from my living room.

I laughed, I gasped, and I even shed a tear or two during some of the more emotional moments. Ewan and Charley have such great chemistry, and it’s evident in every episode. They’re like two old friends just having the time of their lives, and I couldn’t help but feel like I was part of their crew.
I finished the whole season in just a couple of days. Yeah, I know, it’s a bit much, but I couldn’t stop. It was such a great escape from my everyday routine. Now I‘m just sitting here, dreaming about my own motorcycle adventure. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll do something like that too! Until then, I’ll just keep rewatching “Long Way Home” and living vicariously through Ewan and Charley.
I would also like to say that I was able to get all of the episodes on Apple TV+ which is great and convenient.
